The technology to run petrol engined vehicles on LPG has been around for many years and has been widely used in Europe, the U.K. presently has     approximately 1000 autogas filling stations, Australia has 3 500, Italy has 1750 and in The Netherlands almost every petrol filling station is equipped with a gas filling point.  In South Africa previous attempts to introduce LPG as an alternative fuel   have been largely unsuccessful, this has been primarily due to  primitive     equipment in the form of vaporisers and mixers and also the price of petrol in this Country once being relatively cheap. This situation is, as everyone is aware, changing very quickly, with the high cost of petrol and the advent of sophisticated autogas products and electronics LPG is now a very viable solution to cost effective and environmentally friendly motoring
